Hang your Family Ornament on Our Parish Christmas Tree
In conjunction with our new parish Christmas traditions, the lighting of the outdoor Creche and the large outdoor Parish Christmas Tree, we also will have an indoor Parish Christmas tree in the Narthex this year.
I invite all families to bring in an ornament with your family name on it, for hanging on our Parish Tree. Perhaps one made by one of the children, or one you already own that you inscribe your family name on (suggestion: not glass and no larger than 6-8 inches in diameter). Please bring them in and place them in the basket in the Narthex for hanging once our Christmas tree arrives from the North Pole! We will decorate the tree and bless it before the 10:15 Mass on the 4th Sunday of Advent.

With Christmas comes many needed areas of assistance in Church decorating, ushers to assist with Masses and parking, and cleanup crews. An army of elves are needed as we decorate the Church on Friday Dec. 22. I greatly appreciate your considering signing up on the sheets in the Narthex for one or more area of assistance. Many are needed — and of course, the more the merrier!

Blessing of Our Christmas Manger & Lighting of our Tree
A festive and holy night is planned for Thursday, Dec. 7 following the 7 p.m. Vigil Mass for the Holy Day of the Immaculate Conception as we officially launch the Christmas season at St. Gen’s with caroling and the blessing and lighting of both our Christmas Manger — returned outside this year, as you can see — and our new Parish Christmas Tree facing Bethlehem Pike. Holiday refreshments will be served after in the Parish Hall to cap a fun parish family night!
Members of our choirs — Festival, Guitar Group or Children’s Choir (accompanied by parents) will bring Christmas joy to our homebound parishioners on Dec. 17 following the 5pm Mass. If you plan to join us, please sign up in the Narthex for a seat on the bus. Thank you!

A special thanks to our parish Knights of Columbus, headed by Grand Knight Mike Vecchione, for their construction and setup of the outdoor stable for our creche, complete with bales of straw and a weatherproofed roof (with greens). We will unveil our creche on Dec. 7 after the 7 p.m. Vigil Mass. Thank you men, for your time and talent last Saturday! Any parish men interested in joining our Knights, please see Fr. Kevin.
Have a blessed Advent, everyone, as we prepare to celebrate the Birth of Christ!
